On Friday Andy and I celebrated our 16 year wedding anniversary with a dinner out. As we sat, gazing deep into each other’s eyes (which proved difficult with steam from the fondue pot pouring in my face) we took a walk down memory lane. One by one we went through each year that we’ve had together. The first few years were easy, remembering where we lived and where we traveled; some things were hard and some were easy.

As we continued through the years, there was a whole time period somewhere between 2004 and 2007 where things got pretty hazy. I don’t remember much except that there was another child born, some moving, a whole lot of remodeling and many tears.

We’ve been through a lot over sixteen years and I’m happy to say that I still love him. Not only do I still love him, but I enjoy being with him more than anyone else. He makes me laugh and inspires me. He mellows me out when I need mellowing. He shows me what it means to love people. Hopefully I do some of the same for him. Our lives are good; not always easy, but good, and we have much to be thankful for.

Jen Hirschman starting writing on this blog that her husband, Andy, started to post pictures of their remodel on their house. That turned into Jen taking the blog over, only to post silly family stories and photos, update family and friends on some happenings, and then abandon it from time to time. Enjoy!
